Jonathan Poh has more than 25 years of professional practice in Human Resource Management, Consultancy, Training and Organisation Development. He is very experienced in working with both internal and external clients in the wide spectrum of Business HR partnership, from general HR engagement to specialised areas of Training & Development, Leadership Capabilities, Coaching & Mentoring, Talent & Performance Management, Change Management, Organisation Design, Enhancing HR Capabilities and Team Effectiveness.
He has held several senior HR positions in different organisations; the most recent as a Senior HR Director for HR, Talent & OD in Applied Materials. Jonathan also held concurrent roles as Regional Director of Talent Management, Leadership & OE, and HR Director for China and Senior Manager HR for South Asia during his tenure with Freescale Semiconductor & Motorola. In these roles, Jonathan was responsible for driving key initiatives in HR, from talent acquisition to leadership development and succession planning, performance management & rewards, organisation designs and change management.
During his tenure with Pepsico, he was instrumental in setting up their Asia Training & Development (T&D) System. This involved setting up the infrastructures for the HRD function, aligning the development solutions to business and organisation requirements, building the T&D processes and tools, designing and implementing a suite of solutions and evaluation, and auditing the effectiveness of the HRD department. This framework became the blueprint for the company’s YUM Corporate University.
A professional trainer and facilitator, Jonathan is also a certified coach by Hay and a qualified Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) practitioner. Jonathan has provided Human Resources, T&D & OD expertise in Asia to companies like Pepsico, Reuters, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Home Affairs, Credit Suisse, SIM, Motorola, Matsushita, AMD, Indosuez, ABB Vetco, China Chengdu Municipal, Degussa China, and a host of other organisations in various industries and countries. In his former collaboration with the Singapore Institute of Management, he helped to design their HRD Diploma curriculum. He was a pioneer facilitator in the SIM’s Diploma in Human Resource Development (DHRD) and Tutor Coach for the Open University HR degree programs.
Jonathan holds a Masters in HR Consultancy & Organisation Development from the Maastricht Institute of Management, and a BSc Degree (Hons) in Management & Economics from University Of London.
